Salma Dib Participates in No Trespassing at Ishara Art Foundation: a group exhibition exploring the street as a site of memory, resistance, and expression
We are pleased to share that Salma Dib is part of No Trespassing, a group exhibition on view at Ishara Art Foundation in Dubai from 4 July to 30 August 2025. Curated by Priyanka Mehra, the exhibition brings together six artists from the UAE and South Asia including Salma Dib whom we represent, exploring the street as both subject and medium an ever-shifting site of expression, resistance, and reinvention.
Through her contribution, Salma Dib transforms the gallery space into a tactile archive of urban memory. Drawing from the textures and visual language of walls in Palestine, Jordan, and Syria, Dib’s installation evokes a layered palimpsest of public inscriptions—faded posters, handwritten messages, and weathered surfaces—that reflect the personal and political traces left behind in public spaces.
Her work responds to the street not as a backdrop but as a living canvas shaped by movement, time, and human presence. Within the framework of No Trespassing, Dib reclaims institutional space by inviting viewers into a dialogue between visibility, authorship, and the unseen narratives that define place.
