Jihan C Bookmark to preserve the history and the heritage of the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern doors and windows.
Doors have always held a great meaning. As we are known for our hospitality in the Middle East, it comes as no surprise to see how beautifully welcoming our doors are.

The Mandaloun, is an element of the traditional architecture of Lebanon that first appeared in the 17th century. Our Great Prince Fakhreddine II brought it with him all theway from Italy. That is why, those charmingly solid mandalouns proudly perch in stately mansions and in the vernacular houses of the mountains of Lebanon. The term Mandaloun, is claimed to be linked to the Italian 'mandolino', which is a musical instrument in the lute family. It was inferred that the mandaloun's disposition and location was favorable to the instrument player thus the naming.
