Abu Dhabi Art 2025: Presenting: Dr. Najat Makki, Khalid Al Banna, and Samar Hejazi

19 - 23 November 2025
Overview
Aisha Alabbar Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in Abu Dhabi Art 2025, presenting Interwoven Realities a group exhibition featuring three exceptional artists: Dr. Najat Makki, Khalid Al Banna, and Samar Hejazi. Together, their practices reflect a dynamic conversation around memory, perception, and materiality, situating their work within a broader dialogue around contemporary art in the UAE and beyond.

Interwoven Realities explores how identity is continuously reconstructed how what is seen, remembered, and felt becomes form. Each artist, in their own distinct language, investigates the space between inheritance and reinvention, the visible and the intangible. Through threadwork, textile, paint, and abstraction, their works collapse traditional boundaries, offering visual and conceptual experiences that are at once grounded and transcendent.

Rather than presenting a singular narrative, this exhibition proposes that reality is a fabric layered, stitched, unraveled, and reassembled over time. It is in the act of making and remaking that meaning emerges. Whether through the reinterpretation of cultural memory, the transformation of craft, or the reimagining of landscape, the artists in Interwoven Realities invite us to consider vision itself as a material something to question, reshape, and feel.

Aisha Alabbar Gallery invites visitors to experience this nuanced presentation at Abu Dhabi Art 2025 a celebration of process, presence, and the evolving language of form.
