Canvas Magazine features In Circulation by Samar Hejazi

Canvas Magazine, April 14, 2026

Recently featured in Canvas Magazine, In Circulation marks Samar Hejazi’s first solo exhibition in the UAE, exploring the tension between structure and dissolution through textile, printmaking, and spatial interventions. Approaching form as something fragile and contingent, Hejazi constructs works that evolve through processes of layering, erasure, and reconstruction—where memory, labor, and repetition are embedded within the material.

Rather than offering fixed meanings, the exhibition unfolds through a series of open-ended questions, inviting viewers to consider how structures endure, shift, and are reimagined over time. Drawing on archival material, including documents from the Palestinian Museum Digital Archive, Hejazi reconfigures ideas of home, identity, and belonging as fluid and continuously in flux.

Curated by Nadine Khoury, In Circulation proposes material as a system of knowledge—one that resists closure and allows meaning to emerge through time and experience.
