Meer features In Circulation

Samar Hejazi's first solo exhibition at Aisha Alabbar Gallery highlighted by Meer Art
Meer Art, April 16, 2026
Featured in Meer Art, Samar Hejazi presents a body of work shaped by tensions between structure and dissolution, stability and flux. Working across textile, printmaking, and spatial intervention, she approaches form as something contingent—held together through repetition, fragility, and time.
The exhibition unfolds through open-ended questions around what remains when systems are destabilized and how meaning shifts as structures evolve. Rather than offering resolution, Hejazi allows meaning to emerge through material as a form of knowledge.

Through processes of layering, erasure, and reconstruction, her works retain traces of memory and labor. Key pieces include Framing the Imaginary, where an empty frame extends beyond itself through loose threads, and Internal Archives, which draws on architectural records to reimagine notions of home. In Mawtini, a familiar national symbol is fragmented and spatially reworked, creating a tension between recognition and distance.
In circulation resists fixed conclusions, proposing meaning as something continuously formed through material and time.
